Lodestone Mines supports local businesses

Updated: Dec 5, 2023

Lodestone Mines has set up two accounts with Broken Hill businesses, signalling its optimism in its Olary Flats Project and its intention to buy local.

Chief Operations Officer Rob Williamson said the company has began buying safety and industrial supplies through Blackwoods and staff uniforms from Total Workwear.

Blackwoods Area Operations Manager Peter Johns (pictured below) said Blackwoods is part of Wesfarmers group and has branches all over Australia.

“The local branch of Blackwoods in Broken Hill is staffed by six local people and has been in business for about 30 years,” he said.

“Most of business is done with account customers – our supply chain is set up to cater for account customers. We look forward to doing business together and we can be a one stop shop for your all industrial and safety needs.” Mr Johns said.

Lodestone Mines Field Assistant Davin Bates is based in Broken Hill and met Mr Johns at Blackwoods Broken Hill.

Lodestone Mines has been drilling holes at the proposed mine site to collect rocks to provide information on the rock structure for the design of the pit slope. Mr Bates has been assisting in collecting and transporting the rock samples.
